Amazing to think it's been 8-9 years since I started this blog...who would've thought I'd still be single. Not counting the 2-2.5 years with Ace, it's been a love/hate relationship with dating and men, but I've jumped full force back into the dating pool and figured it was time to resurrect this blog.
No longer on match.com, I am still online dating through the latest fad, Bumble! Swipe swipe swipe, that's all anyone does any more. Which makes it a process, you never know when someone even better and brighter is around the corner.
I've also moved from Baltimore to Asheville, NC which has changed the game. The guys here are a mix of tourists, Peter Pan types, divorcees with children (granted, I am a lot older) with a few single no baggage good guys sprinkled in.
I'm lucky to have some amazing women wading through the dating pool with me this time around (Shout out to SATBC crew!) so hopefully we'll get some guest bloggers now and again.
That being said I'll start updating this blog with dating stories soon, thanks for following along <3 nbsp="" p="">3>

6 days...
SO I of of course have been horrible about posting but intend to now make it up to my oh so faithful readers (all 4 of you, ha!)
Recap- Since my challenge I've been talking to 2 guys from online. Both seem really nice, emailing back and forth alot. The one asked me out, and just got back from that date but need to catch up on speed dating dude first.
Went out w/ Speed D on Thursday. We met at a place in Columbia since its closer to where he lives. We'd been emailing since we met, nice guy just not sure I was attracted to him physically, thought I'd give it a shot anywho. Well, the date went really well, just still no attraction on my end. Which I feel bad but can't force anything. Conversation flowed, I laughed, was really at ease. He actually already asked me out again, and then emailed right after to say he had a great time and hoped I did as well. Trying to decide if I should go out again, I think I will at least go out once more, and then from there tell him I just want to be friends, b/c def fun to be around.
Tonite I went out w/ guy #1 from online, we shall call him Batman b/c thats his fav superhero, ha. Seemed really nice, I'd stalked him out on facebook so had seen a few photos, looked cute. We went to the Helmund b/c I'd mentioned I wanted to try it out. This is a rather nice restaurant, and he said he was going to be coming from a friend's function and would be dressed up. So as C knows I started freaking out around 6, trying to decide what to wear!! I dont have any good winter dresses, and then none of my former dress pants fit since I lost weight. Thank goodness I remembered I had a pair of tuxedo pants I'd bought around Christmas so went w/ those.
Anywho, we met there, and he was actually a lot cuter that I expected, always a good thing! #1- the food was amazing!! But besides that it was a really good date. Nice conversation, no awkwardness really. I had walked, so he offered to walk me home after but since kind of far he just dropped me off. Very polite, held out my seat, got the car door for me. Hopefully there will be a date #2 b/c I'd really like to see him again.
Not sure what the status w/ online guy #2, we email a lot, but no mention yet of meeting up, which is fine. Besides all this, saw the really cute dude from trivia on Tuesday and used Gordie again to talk him up. Already have tentative plans for VDay w/ Kyle and Lori, so if nothing else I used this challenge to get out there and meet people. Plus my real valentine is already sitting here next to me. :-)

18 days and counting
So I guess I haven't made a ton of progress just yet on the dating challenge! I did see a super cute fire fighter on Sunday and made note of his truck number. Today I made an effort to track him down, truck 16 is at station 22. I found a website and email address for truck 15 and emailed them asking if they had contact info for truck 16. C suggests taking cookies down there in a trench coat with nothing on underneath. Ha!!
Speed Dating
So I survived speed dating! And it was actually a lot of fun, I'd do it again and recommend it to other people.
First off, I had apprehensions about it going in. What if there were 20 women and only 5 men? What if all the guys were in their 40s and 50s? But I had nothing to worry about. Majority of everyone was in their late 20s early 30s, probably around 50 people. Actually ended up being 3 more men than women!
Basically the women grabbed a seat and then the men moved to the next woman every 4 min. Getting started they were a tad disorganized, I sat with the first guy for 20 min. And unfortunately he was a doozer. He was from DC, in his 40s and just plain weird. He was taking notes on everything I said, and then kept looking around to see what everyone else was doing, jumping up from his seat etc. So he definitely got a N.
-Side note: everyone had a nametag with their name and a number on it. You had a sheet where you wrote down everyone's name and # and then could put notes. Once your 4 min were up you could check yes or no for the person. If both people checked yes for each other then you received their contact info.
Once they got started though things flew. Some guys were really funny, there was a group of 4 guys who were obv just doing it for kicks, they were out of control crazy. Cute dudes, and as S put it, the type of guys you'd sleep with, but not try to date! After a couple of people it felt like there was only 2 min a round. I kind of lost track of who I was saying yes to, I didn't want to check people when they were right by me, or for others to see my sheet. We actually ran out of time and I didn't get to talk to everyone. I think in the end I said yes to 4 of 11-12 guys?
So Monday I get to work and I had a match, one of the guys said Yes to me also. I of course, can't remember who he is!! Go figure. :-) So I did my detective work and figured out who he was. Nice guy, but not sure I meant to say yes to him. He emailed me right away, and we've actually exchanged emails a few times. Seems like a good guy but not sure if interested. He wants to maybe hang out next week so I probably will, just to see how things go.
No matter what it was fun and I'd do it again!

One Down, One to Go
Day Two of the challenge. I've decided to need make sure I am doing something every day to make this challenge worthwhile. SO whether that means messaging guys via okcupid or talking to them on the street, I need to make moves. Having Gordie is a help, he enables me to talk to guys. Of course today I decided to wear a super goofy winter hat while walking him, and therefore saw 2 cute guys. Talked to one briefly who was walking his dog but that was it. I also smiled at a guy at the gym when I wouldn't normally.
25 Days of Dating Challenge
So this is a date late, but Tues Jan 20 was 25 days from Valentines Day and I was issued a challenge. I am to take those 25 days and make the most of it and see what I come up with by Feb 14th. Maybe I'll score a date for the night, or maybe I'll end up home watching a movie with Gordie. Either way it could be interesting!
I'll do my best to update every day and record my progress.
First though, Saturday I am signed up for speed dating! So that will be my first adventure. Also one of my former M dates (can't remember his nickname, Terp maybe??) messaged me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to go out sometime this week. Not definitely going to say yes, seeing as how we've hung out 3 times and no real spark, but we'll see.

So another date tonite. Guy is nice, kind of has this sex appeal about him, not really sure what it is. He is a 4th grade teacher, only 23, but nice, laid back.
We met in Columbia as he is from VA. Planned to see a movie, but Keely messed up the movie times so decided to catch a later show after having a drink. Went to a bar, grabbed some beers and talked. Convo was fine, not amazing but not awkward. Ended up deciding to just get food and some more drinks. Hung out for 2 hours and then went home.
Can't really get a read on him though. Not sure if he is interested, or not at all. He was of the afore mentioned "if you want to" check guys (read previous entry). And when we left no hug or anything, but thats not a big thing.
Cute story though, it'd someone come up that cookies were the way to my heart, esp if they were choc chip. So he brought cookies to the movie! How sweet is that? Only bad thing, we never got to eat them since we didn't go to the movie. Though he didnt give them to me at the end of the night, is that a bad sign? haha.
