18 days and counting
So I guess I haven't made a ton of progress just yet on the dating challenge! I did see a super cute fire fighter on Sunday and made note of his truck number. Today I made an effort to track him down, truck 16 is at station 22. I found a website and email address for truck 15 and emailed them asking if they had contact info for truck 16. C suggests taking cookies down there in a trench coat with nothing on underneath. Ha!!
Speed Dating
So I survived speed dating! And it was actually a lot of fun, I'd do it again and recommend it to other people.
First off, I had apprehensions about it going in. What if there were 20 women and only 5 men? What if all the guys were in their 40s and 50s? But I had nothing to worry about. Majority of everyone was in their late 20s early 30s, probably around 50 people. Actually ended up being 3 more men than women!
Basically the women grabbed a seat and then the men moved to the next woman every 4 min. Getting started they were a tad disorganized, I sat with the first guy for 20 min. And unfortunately he was a doozer. He was from DC, in his 40s and just plain weird. He was taking notes on everything I said, and then kept looking around to see what everyone else was doing, jumping up from his seat etc. So he definitely got a N.
-Side note: everyone had a nametag with their name and a number on it. You had a sheet where you wrote down everyone's name and # and then could put notes. Once your 4 min were up you could check yes or no for the person. If both people checked yes for each other then you received their contact info.
Once they got started though things flew. Some guys were really funny, there was a group of 4 guys who were obv just doing it for kicks, they were out of control crazy. Cute dudes, and as S put it, the type of guys you'd sleep with, but not try to date! After a couple of people it felt like there was only 2 min a round. I kind of lost track of who I was saying yes to, I didn't want to check people when they were right by me, or for others to see my sheet. We actually ran out of time and I didn't get to talk to everyone. I think in the end I said yes to 4 of 11-12 guys?
So Monday I get to work and I had a match, one of the guys said Yes to me also. I of course, can't remember who he is!! Go figure. :-) So I did my detective work and figured out who he was. Nice guy, but not sure I meant to say yes to him. He emailed me right away, and we've actually exchanged emails a few times. Seems like a good guy but not sure if interested. He wants to maybe hang out next week so I probably will, just to see how things go.
No matter what it was fun and I'd do it again!

One Down, One to Go
Day Two of the challenge. I've decided to need make sure I am doing something every day to make this challenge worthwhile. SO whether that means messaging guys via okcupid or talking to them on the street, I need to make moves. Having Gordie is a help, he enables me to talk to guys. Of course today I decided to wear a super goofy winter hat while walking him, and therefore saw 2 cute guys. Talked to one briefly who was walking his dog but that was it. I also smiled at a guy at the gym when I wouldn't normally.
25 Days of Dating Challenge
So this is a date late, but Tues Jan 20 was 25 days from Valentines Day and I was issued a challenge. I am to take those 25 days and make the most of it and see what I come up with by Feb 14th. Maybe I'll score a date for the night, or maybe I'll end up home watching a movie with Gordie. Either way it could be interesting!
I'll do my best to update every day and record my progress.
First though, Saturday I am signed up for speed dating! So that will be my first adventure. Also one of my former M dates (can't remember his nickname, Terp maybe??) messaged me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to go out sometime this week. Not definitely going to say yes, seeing as how we've hung out 3 times and no real spark, but we'll see.
